This means that the stick in your first slot right now is fine, and the second one is wack. I had the same problem with my Inspiron 6000 and after some tinkering with the memory I found which stick was bad and got another one. Kingston should give you a replacement stick of RAM if still under warranty. Hopefully that helps a little bit.
